Final Fantasy XIII

Probably the most anticipated game of 2010.  One of the longest developed games in the decade is coming next month.  Final Fantasy XIII. 

Game Informer got a hold of Final Fantasy XIII and reviewed it.  In the March issue of GI, they rated FFXIII a 9.25/10, which is outstanding. 

The game isn't as memorable as VI or VII, but it has great gameplay and a great story. 

FFXIII sold numerous copies in Japan already, and many play-throughs of the game were posted on youtube.  I'd love to say that the game looks amazing and plays amazing. 

Expect a good game if your into Adventure/RPG's.

i've been contemplating skipping this one. Did they bring it back to the original gameplay (ATB) or is it like XII? And how's the music/storyline?

There were a few sites and magazines(very few) that gave FFXIII an average review (3 out of 5 stars, 70/100, 6/10) because of the free roaming removed.  Its a linear game, much like Final Fantasy X.

like FFVI, oldschool?  cause that was the best game they ever put out IMO. IX (needs to be on PSStore soon) was really good too. I know my brother will buy it. so i'll just ask him if i can borrow it for awhile to see if it's worth buying. I wonder what the trophies are like on it.

Fallout 3 has definitely opened my eyes to complete freedom in a free roaming environment. That being said tho, even if FFXIII is completely linear, there's no way in hell that I'm skipping this game. A day one purchase without a hint of a doubt!

i never really got into FF games but this one looks interesting,,, does anyone know how the online works on this game? if there is online?

final fantasy 7 was the best game out of every dam 1 i think...GO CLOUND!! haha

of course ffVII was the lol, cant go wrong with a bad ass villian like sephiroth :) but yeah i think this is a def must buy, its going to be great and the screenshots are amazing... even if u've never like the FF series i think this will change ur mind... this game is bringin a new meaning to rpgs; and fehtalatee, f*** CLOUD haha jk

its become a rental to me.. this series went in the trash can with X and X-2.. XII wasnt bad but this **** is no longer final fantasy.. roaming the world in a little airship is final fantasy.. looking for some random ass little town to find a sword above your level etc.. i dont wanna just sit around and play thru a 30 hour movie.. so im renting it.. i guess its impossible for gaming companies to stick to formulas that work

Well I wouldn't say Square ruined the series with FFX.  FFX won alot of game of the year awards for that year in the US.  But the main formula for the game was abandoned after 9.  Square might consider making FF15 an oldschool style game with a good plot and villain.

But FFXIII is getting decent reviews in America.  "Decent" as in 8-8.5-9/10 in a scale of 1-10.  I guess its a "good" RPG since it abanonded what we all wanted, a great Final Fantasy, not a good one.
