For me personally I like to warm up my hitscan. Regardless of whether or not its true... I go into
 
every battle thinking that Im gonna r4p3 my opponent. (meaning im better then every player i face)
 
You know Im started to get hyped up when I yell in the mic, "GET r4p3D".
 
I've been playing alotta vctf lately, and when I kill the "big name" players it also puts me in the
 
zone, because I get disgusting shots on disgusting players. Whether it be mid air rockets or back
 
to back shocks in mid air. One sick shot is enough to put me in the ZONE.
 
For clan matches I add a little bit of music as well.

a zone? ive never been in one. or a clan match. maybe if i play in a clan match i will get in a zone?

iv nvr been able to get in "the zone" off the football field. iv come close a few times in ut3 (closest i think was the iAM vs A-R match) where ill feel my heart racn a million miles a minute, breathn faster, eyes scanning everywhere, basically every reflex on hyper, but itd take some intense games w/ some intense players on both sides to get me feeling that again. it brings out my full potential - i think - but sadly i think those days are gone. after that A-R match iv NEVER been able to get hyped since. damn u guys set the bar too high and i dunno if theres any group that can cause that.

i don't know when i'm in the zone but i do know when i'm out of it and it sucks so bad. i think i just need to get a couple of games in or start getting annoyed by people on the opposite team

getting my ass handed to me for like 2 days and leaving ut3 alone ---
 after a short amount of time i get the nervous twitch to play again--
 
signing in and seeing good players is helpful.
a session on the decks and getting blazed is the best. music is the best. 
oh and killing those people who diss you, repepatedly , with sweet shots -then seeing those people sign out lol cough cough Genesis !! -- classic

but i got in the zone by providing cover to our flag carrier to tied the game
and then the game winner headshot i Got on your flag carrier when he was in mid air...

only time im in the zone is when my kids sleepin and i have my surround sound blasting and ive had a drink or two in me  then i usually play my best which i dont blast my surround sound anymore or sit in a comfy position which totally throws me off i just play to play nowadays
