I play online because AI gets predictable. You can never tell what some people will come up with during a game. I also play because of people like the guys in A-R they are an absolute riot to be around.

hmmn dont fret on hypothesis too much it will take shape as u delve into research. I still got some stuff on pdf so i'll sort it and upload to my me.com acct. What online site r u gonna use for ur survey? Survey monkey is good and free for surveys with up to 8 questions and 100 responses.

I broke my back (3 prolaps).. So Floorball and hockey was not an option anymore. The competetive arena was PS3, my first game was UT3. Still play it, but i got around 14 games i dont play now cos of MW2 and UT3.
The unthinkable was getting friends on ps3, never taught i was a gaming person to a degree where i got friends online!! Now i have ca 60 players added in friendlist... WOW!
So beeing a n00b mid 30's is strange.. But fun as hell.

Is online gaming (video games) the new social fashion?
Im going to have to post up a questionnaire soon and have some mini interviews with a few people afterwards...at the moment I used these posts for my research journal and my pilot essay. So thank you to everyone who posted.

To echo what has already been said, playing with other people creates a more dynamic environment, compared a static bot. Also, without e comity of players, I prob wouldn't play anymore. UT3 has become more than a game; it is a portal to meet distant friends, even if I cannot see you all.

I play videos games because it's fun and i've enjoyed playing ever since i was a kid.
I play online because i get the opportunity 2 meeting new people from different backgrounds and countries(like you  ,my bro rudy and others).I learn some thing new everyday from the people that i meet online(good or bad).as for reasons hmmm lets see.... 1. i'm a bit of a trophies wh0re and must get as many as i can 2. try to be the best at the all games i play and i like the challenge from the games i play. 3.a way 2 take all my anger and rage out on people with out getting put in jail  . LoL4.laughing at all the people that get pi$$ed at their teammates that act like fools and don't do any thing all game long  .so good!! HAHAHA...that's all i can think of right now. its much more interactive than TV, which i like. i think mostly i just got hooked at an early age. the online aspect introduced even more ways to enjoy a game and got me even more hooked
