yeah i took the ''just wait 30 hours'' advice and that solved it. lol i did all those other things and nothing fixed it, guess it was gamespy problem.

And incidentally,  I finally solved my logging out (booted) from PSN issue....if anyone else has this issue..........I didn't have a filter on my dsl line that goes to my direct tv  (satellite receiver)    Unplugged it and voila no more problems......Just a FYI

Been happening to me more frequently lately.....I found that quitting game and reloading usually remedies this

If I simultaneously sign in to the PSN and load UT3 I get the PSN signed in message but UT3 never signs in. I have to quit the game a re-load it, and then it works. So now I just wait until I'm signed in to the PSN and then load the game.

Like what Aqua has said, it probably is Ut3 support... My friends have had the same issue and it has only been with this particular game.. They just press circle and keep trying multiplayer and eventually get in lol. Not sure if it is your actual internet, rather it is just the game and it's wonderful errors.

This also happens to me.  Sometimes I just reset my router and it starts working again, and sometimes it does not work till the next day.  BTW... I have 25MB up 20MB down so it is not a speed problem.

the only thing is there were other people playing online at the time and i had messaged them bout it too, yet again i was online able to do all psn things but not play.  you maybe right though just not sure how others are able to play but not me.  guess i dont really know how the Gamespy system works, if its down you would think no one could play

Sounds like a Gamespy issue.  This happened to a bunch of people the other day.  Probably related directly to UT3 support.

the thing is I AM signed into psn.  i can send messages, go on the internet so on ect..but when i try to play ut3 it tells me i need to be signed into a psn account for multiplayer functions.......even though i am.....

yeah its not my internet.  i have a 25mb download and a 4mb upload, i'd have to say my net is faster than 90% of the gaming commun.  i also have a $200 dual ban netgear router and i know its not my equipment thats causing it.  you can play games just fine on a 3mb download as well

this same **** happens to me quite a bit i just always from main menu(ut3) sign out then back in in the bottom left corner it should say your psn then you should be able to log in sometimes its a b**** n still wont let you just try again
 
I've actually had it sign me in and i played as my ps3 sign in name John lol everyone was makin fun of my "original" name
 
and bain what do you mean 8 down? my connection upload at 300 kbs and downloads a 1 MBs I play with no problems
