ya im glad u mentioned that, cuz ur absolutely right...like i said braces are a temporary aid n should b treated as such, wearing them too long ur knee gets used to the constant support n when u take that away, ur just asking 4 trouble. if u find urself using a knee brace alot (doin alot of activity) id say that u should take some time maybe every workout or every other workout, n do limited exercises n plenty of stretching, kinda gauge where ur knee is at n also to let it build strength independent of the brace

Read your Blog.  Nice work.

Hmmm.... 6'5" at 240lbs = your an enormous but fit human being compared to the average.  With a 27" inseam though, you're all torso and upper body, which will naturally lead to strain in your knees.

TX is right (being a jock and all), but I would add that I've seen a lot of guys in the USMC wear the prescribed knee braces 24/7 instead of just during activity, which actually hurt them in the long run because eventually they couldn't function at 100% without them.  Good luck.

@strider....settle down, this is actually a decent thread on this site, take ur issues elsewhere.

Yeah I will do... It's my left knee which is the weaker one anyway :(

I'll be doing my best to get back running again, was covering around 20 miles a week plus heavy weights sessions last year so bit of a shame I've had a knock back but will be a good challenge!

Nice one Trin... Yeah I'll make sure that I follow all the exercises they set me.

Its some kind of camera and then cartilage removal. Don't think I'll be out for long but needs to be done as I was running around 20 miles a week before it went.

Will keep the blog updated as I go.

Well for a while now I've been doing a lot of weights in the gym and getting a lot bigger... so that is the 'bulking' stage over with.

Now for the cutting stage where I lose the excess fat and start to become ripped.

Any donations received are much appreciated... aiming to cut 30 lbs in 4 months to have a body fat of around 8%... primarily aiming to raise £100.00 over the next 4 months and then start doing long distance running after my knee operation next week.

Much love... Manjel8, your friendly neighborhood fatty. xxx
