in the program, you have to go to the top click "Drivers" (I think) then check the box next to the PS3 controller usb then click the "Install All" button

Y would you want a PS3 controller on PC while you have got all these insanely great mouses out there. Buy a Razor set and you will never want to get back to a PS3 controller.

Don't know if you'll need to do anything special to get it to work with UT3 though.

Most of the time, yes..... but i think a great controller player could hold his own if he's smart with his tactics.

Yea my bad trinity, I didn't mean to screw up your post.. Basically all you need to play USB type controllers that are compatible for PC is a straightforward utility such as the MotionInJoy  (the one you guys listed in the previous post).. I would recommend trying Kb/M if you play PC though.. Call of duty is fun and other slower paced games with controller on the Pc. However, Nexiuz, Quake, and Unreal Tournament are rather difficult with the controller.

*And to answer your question, I used a Mac webcam for those tournaments. I was on my schools campus that summer and winter... I have a Hauppauge HD at home which I love because of the HDMI ports...

well if someone is planning on playing a 4 year old dead PC game i doubt their concern is their skill level. probably only cares about having fun and a controller is easy, fun, and he's already familiar with it.

You need a driver for your mode of connection (USB or bluetooth but wired preferably) and the OS youre running on PC. The gaming forums will have an answer or yh googling is best.
Hey VP if you get it working be sure to post, i'm curious too.

*Actually, they are allowed to have exclusive rights for anything they have original rights from (doesn't necessarily have to be produced by them). For example, Blu Ray. Microsoft cannot make Xbox 360s with Blu Ray drives.... Same for the other way around. Xbox has the rights for their HD DVD. However, in more ways than one, the BluRay is superior in terms of quality/sound. The next bandwidth that is more powerful than the HD DVD (RED) and the BluRay (BLUE) is green. Green is too powerful to contain in terms of motion picture (for noww.... but they will probably find a way soon to properly condense the heat/energy of a green bandwidth for systems). Think of it like a laser pointer. Red sights aren't as clear as the green sights. Green sights can light matches and pop balloons..

Back to the controller. You can buy controllers that resemble much like the old PS2 controller. As far as connecting your USB PS3 Dual Shock to the computer, it would take a lot more than that. You can charge your controller through a USB on the laptop or tower. You cannot control the mechanics of a computer without certain modifications. I suggest contacting your local game tester agencies. Game developers test their console games on computers with actual console controllers before they render them onto console format. They would have more info on this matter. Hope this helps.
Yes true but intellectual property rights protect the interests of the organisation(s) i'm not talking about modifying a piece of hardware or infringing on protected rights. Afaik developing software to allow a device to communicate with an OS as in a driver doesnt violate Sony's or anyones rights does it? With bluray vs HD DVD they were competing technologies so its slightly different. Sony and Microsoft camps went head-to-head and bluray superior technology won. Now Sony made sure you couldn't record from a bluray/hdmi source by using Intel's HDCP protection. That soon got hacked.
Besides which you can buy hardware and use software to send game to a PC screen and grab it from there. Worm I know u know this stuff cos youve streamed from your PS3 and recorded games but was it analogue? Sony would b sh1tting bricks cos theyre scared were gonna rip off their and their partners films in HD and music too but we just wanna record games.
Anyway the only thing Sony can do is to issue firmware to disable the use of 3rd party/peripheral devices on their systems but still people will find a solution then post it on the net. Im guessing thats what theyd try if they wanted to stop the MotionJoy driver Hinterland mentioned. The can make life difficult but idk I dont think they can control the way we use their products so long as its legal. Get back to me if im wrong im always u for some enlightenment. BTW I knew about the next development in HDMI but idk how it actually worked so ive learned a few things - nice one!

Why would someone want to put themselves at a disadvantage while playing with a PS3 controller vs KB/M? I know to each his own, but just saying...
