i was just giving an example but you wanna be all technical. lol. GOLDENEYE, TIMESPLITTERS, PERFECT DARK, DOOM, TUROK.
all have been replaced by another good game. now we as a community are dependant on the online capibility for a FPS to be a FPS shooter cause we don't wanna play with bot or by ourselves. i am 99.9% sure if there were at least 500 more people playing on the regular w/o two or more accounts this game would still have clan matches every weekend w custom maps.
Anything that bleeds for 7 days and doesn't die is the only thing you should fear

I will follow everyone else if the game is right. A lot of my friends moved on to MW2 and I bought it as well. I ended up not liking it so I am back to UT3. If a worthy replacement comes out and everyone bolts to that I am there. Harlin and Barktooth aren't the reason we play, its each other. 2 things have to happen in order for me to leave this game for another: It has to have all the elements I love about this game and everyone else I enjoy playing with has to play it as well.

when u get on ps3, get into the PUG chat room (ask q80 for invite) and we can get some good games going.
and if your here in time, you can get into the CTF iAM league. good 2 see more people coming over. 
CTF still has a little life in it. the most popular server has 16 slots and most days it gets filled up.
so if u like pubs, go there, if not PUG chat is for you!  :)

You're right Drokun, I should have said it's thriving in VCTF and the deathmatches.  Warfare and CTF you have to get on at the right time to find good pub games.  As for duels I don't really know but I always see at least a few people in there when I've checked.

well remember that the ps3 is set up diffrently then 360.. i have a feeling you will be doing alot more pubbing on the ps3 then u are use to.. and there is/was a ****-ton of camping in ctf
 
but yea regardless what anyone says, people play ut3 because they want to and they arent going to stop until they dont want to

Don't let the negative talk about UT3 being dead put you off getting it for PS3 cuz compared to UT3 on the 360 this game is thriving!

a ps3 version would be awesome.. unfortunately the company that makes quake is awful with the cell processcor so we wont ever see a good version

I really enjoyed Quake on the PS2. I just don't like gaming on a PC. A PS3 version would be sweet.

But i still play UT3 no matter what, love the game but i play other games as well just as much like Bioshock/FIFA/SVR, could go on, so nothing would change for me if i got COD-MW2, even if lots of my friends have said what a fantastic game it is. I know alot of people are on COD-MW2 now which is fine, new game and they enjoy it, mainly cos their are lots of people on it online then they are on say UT3, but think thats always been the case really, COD prob has a greater fan base then UT, but that doesnt mean i'm gonna stop playing UT3, i still always gonna find it a fun game and if i enjoy it then thats all that matters in the end.

Yea we been waiting for Quake it seems like forever. Death aka cupcake_destroyer says thats his game. Me and Frog are looking forward to checking it out 4 sure. Ive not played any Quake games. So im gonna be a total noob. L4D is a blast with friends. aaAAAhhHHH I GOT A JOCKY ON MY HEAD...lol Its funny as hell.
 
im sure you will like quake, your skills from ut3 wont directly transfer over but you will be better then someone who has played neither.
 
and remember, there would of never been an unreal if it wasnt for quake.
 
sure doom and wolfenstein were there first, but when Id created quake the huge success it had online is why epic made unreal. people dont realize that even though quake is like 15 years old that back then it had a huge playerbase, huge tournaments and plenty of big cash prizes worth well over 50k

i agree with kali, helscream, and two_fase.. they all made excellent points.. especially helscream and how this topic has already been beaten to death.. there are the "LIFERS!!!" and the people with their reasons for leaving.
 
honestly if ut3 was as easy for me to find a quality game as quakelive is, id think about playing but its not and itll never be in a state i consider alive.. hasnt been in over a year
