Pin that's exactly how to use the tank node. Everyone should read what pin wrote and take notes.

I do set my settings to orb runner but it still spawns me there. That also happens to me in serenity..sometimes it spawns me near the tank when the orb is sitting at core. Its not 100% but it does help

   I'm going to Frankenstein my PS3 back to life this weekend or buy a new 250GB. I really hope my 60GB is not permanently dead though :'(

   Tank node is as Pinnacle put it. It also puts you in line with a few other useful weapons too, should the fight be for center or either primes.

I can see if your losing your prime node, i could help getting the Tank.  Just have some one sit at the end of the 'driveway' by the paladin with some one healing it, and have the hell bender shooting constant shock cores threw the alley and have the rest get the prime back.

if you build it straight away its a huge disadvantage... unless you can guarantee you get centre.

And then it becomes a huge advantage. Players who live by set strategies and don't ever have the flexibility to mix it up and think for themselves will always remain a stupid nooby.

Read the map, read the situations and talk to your team. All u need to worry about then is your aim.

The tank node is worthless when the match begins. Anyone that goes for it right away has just screwed their team. If a node is being hit and your orb is there, you are just going to respwan at the tank node and have to go across the whole map in order to get the orb and hold down the node. The only times it's advisable to get tank node is if you are fighting to win back your prime. If you have enemy prime, then it's worthless again, since the person that is getting that node can easily just go and hit the core and finish the game.
 
JP, when our team gets tank node, I just switch to Orb Runner or Defend in order to spwan at the last captured node instead of spawning at the tank node.

I almost want to challenge this by having a set server with good people play one round with the tank node being built right away and the second round where no one touches that node and see how fast you can advance or win the game using both scenarios

You just proved my point envy that most people think that tanks wins games.. "oh if helscream was in the tank that team would automatically win"...that's major b.s. And besides you spawn at that tank node regardless if someones in it, its in the cradle or if its destroyed. Its only useful if someone knows what they are doing with it AND if its built at the right time most cases its not.

well i can assure you that in an advanced game or all stars match on the p.c. version, the winning team on downtown will have the tank node and tank on their side in the end game. if the tank is actually kept alive, your team does not spawn at the tank node. the real problem with the tank node is just the fact that to many players in the ps3 dont know jack about teamwork or dont know how to use and abuse the vehicles in the vehicle modes. if you had a team healing up helscream non-stop, it would be unstoppable. the fact is that we dont have the players or know how to make it work "properly". that is the problem and why its not smart to get the tank node here on the ps3. i cant stand it when a noob gets the tank and rolls it down the street for 10 seconds, just getting it killed and having your team spawn there for the next 45 seconds...

I Still disagree with the majority of you guys in regards to tank node being a crucial node to get. this is what I find so frustrating sometimes with people who rely on big vehicles to play this game and think its the key for success.

You make it difficult for orb carriers and for the defense which should always be your key to success. I can blame the game makers for always making this the spawn point even if the tank isn't there but they're not going to fix it. There has been only one player ever who knew how to play this game and was always successful and his main focus was always the orb and we won games and we won them fast. Its just too bad he has left and probably will not return.

   It is broken because you can spawn kill the other team with tremendous accuracy. It does not take much skill, and it is all everyone does on the PC version now. It would be better if the spawns were spread out around the node you spawn at. Instead it is not and people take advantage of that.
