Not all systems will be 100% okay. The occasional mess up is GOING to happen. Even if the mythical Jesus was to create a gaming console, some of them would just mess up. Look at the earth. he made everything in 7 days, but Stars light takes thousands of years to get to us, so what was the star light the first peoples seen??? Sorry, got carried away.

My 60GB PS3 got the ylod a while back (Oct 09). When my cousin fix it, it last at least a month. Afterwards, I received the second ylod. Everytime I took the console apart, repair it and put it back together, it only last for a couple of minutes. After I received the ylod 5 times, it was time for me to purchase a new PS3 slim.

my ps3 has ylod switches off as soon as i try to boot it up then bleeps. Eventually it works if i persist, ive cleaned fan etc, but it takes 10-15 mins to get up and running. Last week it rebuilt my hard drive b4 booting but it wont last much longer i know - its 2.5 yo and i use it almost every day.

i bought my PS3 from walmart and got the insurance that came with it, and when got the YLOD, i sent it back to them to fix it they did and then sent it back to me. a month later i got the YLOD again sent it back, they fixed it , a month later again the f***er went YLOD, so i just said f*** this, **** i'm getting the Slim. |

i still keep getting YLOD but with mine if u keep ur finger on the on/off switch for a little while it stays on rather than switching off. Yes its a bit hit and miss but its cheaper than buying a new one or investing in paste and coolant to fix it. Ive had my PS3 2 yrs 7 months so every day is a blessing as they say!

Turn off the PS3 from the back.
Hold the Eject button down while system is down, Turn the system on while still holding eject And it should force it out. Good luck and may god have mercy on your PS3.... R.I.P

i managed to get a refurbished 1 for £187, however much that is, from sony after my 1st 1 broke n when that 1 got YLOD i got another refurbished 1 for free

haha hey man sounds like ur having the EXACT same problem im having.. only my case it is both times it took 2 weeks to break again... ive sent it bak to them after the 3rd time its broke down.... hopefully gonna get it replaced.. and with al the trouble ive got im gonna see if i can get a slim from them :P... man u copying me lol |
