yea but in sports, say football.. every QB plays the same amount of games, thats why they compare stats, if rex grossman played 100 games and tom brady played 16 grossman might look better then brady because hed have alot more yards and tds

another reason why that wouldnt work is the modes people play arent equal,

someone racking up 15 headshots in a vctf game by holding the flag on their side and letting the newbies charge over and over is about equal to 1/2 of 1 headshot in tdm vs a skilled player. and about 1/20th of a headshot in a 1v1.

should definitely be more than one mode - objective modes let us sheeps to the slaughter contribute more than tdm. for example, i can still translocate and take 20 off of bumrush with my enforcer before he slaughters me, while telling my teammates where he is, instead of just screaming "f***!!!" when Paw snipes my head off across the map in tdm.

first thought - three cap ctf + 1 point wf on balanced maps - 20 minute time limits

that keeps non-OT matches to 1 hour tops and those with other things in their life besides ut3 should be able to break off that much time.

What if you did something where players that are all-around would be the 'top tier' and players that usually just stick to one mode would be in the 'lower tiers'? Just an idea :)

well that was kinda my point, i know alot of ppl who do like it but thats regardless. fact is it would be by far the most level playing field out of all the modes.. and its the only mode with TEAM in the name ;)

ok well ive given a fair share of input, im gonna let you all figure it out but i hope this does happen at some point, put a price on my head and someone draft me

4. because setting up clan matches in ut3 is like pulling nails from my experience, from 90% of the clan match related threads i see etc.

5. yea , i think it should be up to EU players as far as how they wanna do it, with US or not.. but i was more referring to the timezone diffrence then ping issues

6. competetive settings is a vague term :)

1. He never let it die, he PM'd with WOPR and they figured they'd wait until the league is over?
4. The captain's responsibility I'd say, lol
5. Oh timezone, well we usually play matches at 5 Eastern which is 11PM for me and 10PM for UK guys
6. Basically, no big head mutator 1 cap 60 minute settings.

imo they should pick a mode, all modes takes too long to complete

4. same diffrence, same issue

5. yea 5 eastern is a bad time for anyone with a job

6. ctf is a mode that is played by ALOT of players, VCTF and warfare you could say the same.. one mode that isnt played alot is TDM, considering were all gonna come together for this i dont think its fair for unexperienced ctf players to have to play vs people with ALOT of experience, and in vehicle modes you will run into that problem as well, seeing as how tdm is the most unplayed mode its the most level field for everyone.

and i know ricos idea was more based on a competetive aspect, this (to me atleast) when woolvie brought it up seemed kinda like a funner more laid back thing. so i dont think people will enjoy playing modes that they have no experience in. and if you ever played unreal for more then 5 seconds, you can play tdm.

envy dont go to that end of the spectum already, the idea is a fun idea.. it doesnt need to be everyones cup of tea thats the whole point.. its shaking things up.. no one has any ego to lose its all random teams and all for fun. honestly i see this as a good way for a player like your self that is trying to branch out in other modes to get some good practice on foot.

at the same time that sounds like im immediately knocking out vehicle modes, which isnt my intention i think it should be voted on, im just sayin stay open to whatever happens and lets not make it one of those "every mode or nothing" things.. because it always becomes nothing

4. Why not play when team captains agree? Basically set it up like a clanmatch. I think it's supposed to be 1 match/week so it'll usually be in the weekends/saturday.
5. Euro players usually don't ping too much higher than west coast players (though some have more trouble than others).
6. If rico's setting it up probably competitive settings.

Anyway this is what I think it was like, I'm not the one setting it up though and I may be totally wrong.

I say that if this idea is going to work, it's got to be not too big of a number, but at the same time, it's also got to be more than 2vs2, otherwise there will be not point to the "dollar" system.  3 seems like too little, 5's just asking for no shows, and 6+ is definitely not a good idea, so Deadaim's idea is just right.  The point for the value system is there and at the same time, the chance for no show issues is a lot lower, though I'm sure there still will be no show issues.  Hmm, now that I'm thinking about it maybe us clans should consider having more matches with 3 or 4 players and maybe 5 or more, but only on the good days.  It could save a lot of headaches, when we actually do have matches.

i want this idea to work here are the things that need to be ironed out tho:

1. what mode/modes?

2. alot of ppl claim to have little to no availbitlity.. this is a huge problem

3. what size teams? i tink due to #2 that the teams should be small.. 3-4 people.. but i also understand its a draft and the whole scheme is kinda cheesy with only 3 people, so my opinion is 4 is a good number.. i think alot of people might want 5.. which isnt bad but the problem is if people dont show up.

4. this kind of relates to #2 also.. when to play? i kinda think a cool idea would be a league night.. or tourney night.. id rather know every week to keep my wednesday nights free then argue back and forth with teams over when the match will be held and never get it accomplished.

5. this also relates to #2, should EU players be grouped with US players or have their own teams? (timezones etc) where as they could play in their division and meet the US players in the finals?

6. game settings

this seems very doable, already have a good skeleton of how things should be, it's only the small details that need to be thought out
