You should rent it first seph, it has a TON of content on that disc, but at the end of the day a fighter has to have a replay factor for you to keep you wanting to get better at combos and online play. |

This game is a lot better than I expected, and I prefer this to those spammy games made by Capcom or those button mashers by Namco which I also own...

No offense to anyone, but because you can't/haven't figured out how to play a game doesn't automatically make it a button masher. I believe Tekken 5 DR, Tekken 6, and Soul Calibur 4 to be the deepest fighting games to date. My own opinion, but one that I will defend rabidly.

DLC characters are Kenshi, Scarlet (Lady in Red), and Kintaro. The unlockable characters are Cyber Sub-Zero, and Quan Chi. And of course the PS3 exclusive is Kratos (God of War). I myself picked up the game at the Gamestop midnight launch. I was blown away by the demo, because I still have MK vs DC and Armageddon, but my favorite was UMK3 until this game. I have SF4 and Tekken 6 which are btw both awesome, but MK is my favorite fighter. None of these games are as button mashing as MvC though. SF4 is a fast-paced style fighter while Tekken and MK9 are a little slower. Not saying that they are slow by any means. I have completed the story 100%, unlocked 100% of the krypt, completed the 300 challenges on the Challenge Tower, and completed the ladder with all charactrers including Kratos. Fought all four hidden characters. Got every possible offline trophy except for My Kung Fu is Stronger, so sad that online is down. So far I've mastered Scorpion, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Sub-Zero (the best), Ermac, and Raiden. I've been playing UT3 lately or more characters would've been mastered. UT3 is what brought me to this site. Going mod hunting. Got tired of UT99 so I just bought UT3 after 4 years for $8. Anyways, MK9 is a good game, but online is where the replayablity comes in. Due to PSN being down, I'm SOL but the game had me playing nonstop for a week straight until I bought UT3. Trying to Platinum 2 games at once! So far I have 67% of the MK trophies and 55% of UT3. MK9 is the best in the series. If your good enough. Go through the ladder on Expert without blocking and do at least 5 babalities to see Goro or Kintaro turn into babies!
