Long story short, I stood at the customer service desk for an hour and a half arguing with them about their bullsh1t policy. Eventually, I left with a new PS3 and kept the games.
Frankly, I think the quality of Sony products has gone down the crapper as of late.
i 2nd that o and what happend 2 u was bs i would have done the same

My old 40gb NEVEr had a problem with overheating or anything .. Always kept clean.. I say 20 n 40gbs never get it . But thats my thought..

o.. Will um,you had it on its stomach or standing up? Another thing , was it close to the wall behind it?? .. Mine is standing up ,by my flat screan. Along time ago i used to turn it off by its power in the back and it still works.. so idk dude.. I'l look into it for you. I'v fixed 3 ps3's and ONLY 1 has not been able to be fix.

i had my launch system since launch day, sold it in feb on ebay , still worked fine.

occasional lock ups with certain games, but never stopped working or giving me any serious issues
 
got a slim now, runs great havent had any lockups and still no YLOD
 
 
 
are u guys keeping your systems in a place where they are well ventilated? are the vents crammed with dust ?
 
 
have you been taking breaks in between your 8 hour gay porns to let the system cool?
