sony can probably fix it with 1 quick firmware update.. this doesnt mean the floodgates are open for hackers on the ps3.. it means 1 very elite hacker got access to the hypervisor (which sony claimed was near impossible).. he still has alot of work left to do before he can even do anythign with it let alone turn it around into an issue of people using hacks online.. if it was a process id say its like 2/10ths of the way there.. maybe in another year or so we might see some cheaters |

I Hope this means we will have Custom Firmware on our PS3's soon :P
all the cool shiz you can do to a psp with custom firmware is nuts! imagine what a PS3 could do :O |

It proly will but Sony will find a way to detect and you won't be able to use the m/c on PSN for games etc im sure. Although one person tells 10 peeps who tell 10 more then every1s an expert. At least people will understand the attraction of the new cloud (console) games computing systems that will most likely displace 360 and PS3 in time. Lagless, platform independent and downloadable =

George Hotz posted on his blog that the exploit only works with a 2.4.2 firmware update. I did a little searching and that update was released in July 2008.
