Most transparent press release yet. Kind of makes you wonder with the content they discuss, why this hasn't been made aware to us immediately.

I read a blog earlier and someone had commented that their credit card details had been used 250 miles away in Arizona... so beware any fraud and people trying to obtain further details from you.


On a positive note, at least they are taking this threat seriously.

I'm thinking about two types of hacker about this hack :

-Black Hat : Russian crackers
-REAL hacker : I'm thinking especially to Chaos Computer Club, they are really good and they do sometimes some "joke" like that. Check on the web what CCC do in the past with a german Bank.... That was funny ^^

From what I've read before, he hacked the Ps3 (not PSN) so that he could re-enable installing Linux, a function that was stripped in a firmware update.
I liked the part of his case where he claimed he'd never heard about Sony US (and said that he believed it was only a japanese company).
Also, how do you sing a form?

..and yes it was because they took linux and other firmware ps3 originally came with.
.. never heard him saying that about SOny..LOL>.thats retarded.. he lived in the us
..and u sign a form using ur hand

yes he indeed hacked the ps3.... but he dint hack the psn which is what i said.... he jailbroke the ps3 to play homemade games... thats what he intended... to make his system able to do that.. however he did not hack the PSN bringing it down... that was someone else. with a different custom firmware update to what geoHOT posted.... however it was because that geoHOT jailbroke the ps3 allowing other firmware/software to be used in the future.....
and didnt he post the firmware which allowed people to hack the ps3 BEFORE he was in court....? since that was the reason he went to court lol
 
its funny that for someone who researches the hacker/anonymous but dont know much about it lol

u dont know what ur talking about he jailbroke it before he went to court and the released the firmware after the court settlement,, sometimes its useless explaining it to some people ^^,, its just funny how u faiL..

and war.. what geoHOT done didnt afect psn... what he done to his ps3 was done when he didnt have an online account with psn... technically he never done anything wrong.. since he just re-enabled things what the ps3 previously had. but when he posted how to do it on the internet it lead to people to use it wrongly and eventually hacked psn lol
