GT5′s New Route X Circuit: First Drive at Tokyo Auto Salon

This short, 1’42 video shows the first action seen at Gran Turismo 5′s new “Route X” track, announced earlier in the week.

Though most of the colossal 30km track remains under wraps at this point, this video shows a gamer attempting a Max Speed Test on the 12km straight using the Red Bull X2010 S.Vettel.

While comparisons have been drawn to Volkswagen’s phenomenal facility at Ehra-Lessien (which has a 9km straight that is impossible to see either end from the middle, due to the curvature of the Earth), little information exists about the remaining 18km of circuit, with GT5 fans remarking on architectural similarities to the infamous Tokyo Bayshore Route.

only 299.7mph!!! i've done 305mph in my 2011 Prototype. this track is going to be fun!!!

i know. hell, i did 289mph in my Bugatti at LeMans before i ran out of track.

Dude the track that is at the Harbour looks sick. Cant wait to race on that track.

i think it's all the same track. 12km straight-a-way, then 18km for the harbour plus getting there and back.

it's one big oval with nice banked turns. it has a really smooth surface with distance markings every 1000m.

well without doing any sort of tinkering what so ever i hit 305.4 mph with the prototype, gonna mess with the tranny some later, prolly the ride height and downforce too and see what i can come up with.
 
Bain if we could both get on that track and draft im sure we could hit 350 mph lol, just stretch the final gear out and bump draft ;)

i took off all downforce. didn't mess with the ride height. i set the final gear to 350mph and got to 317mph. i lowered it to 340mph and got it to 322mph. but that was on the downhill side off the bridge, not the speed test section.
