my first time playing pc version = owned
Has anyone been successful with connecting a ps3 controller to pc?

| Nope. Y would you even think about using a controller on the PC version? you can get so much nastier with just a little practice with a mouse and keyboard. Give it a shot. Trust me it's worth it |

When i played that free weekend of ut3 pc i used a program called xpadder.It was kind of confusing to get it working but i finally got it.JoytoKey is also a good free program.I used it when i tried to play quake live with my controller.Worked but i didnt like the game ------------- Nissan SiLViA Nissan 300zx Yamaha Yzf R6 <3 |

Pc Version of Games normally have Smaller hit boxes and thus making it really hard to kill sum1 using a controller. Stick with kb/m :)

its probably a comfort issue brah. I know i would rather a controller over a mouse and keyboard. i think that setup is poo stain.

im the opposite......i rather mouse and keyboard over a controller anyday....... Controller just dosen't feel right to me but i do use it when i need 2 :)

there is no controller option....
once the controller is set up right with your PC, go to quake live
and your cntroller will work. just make sure your PC recognizes the controller. all the info
is in that above youtube link.^^^^^

what program R u useing???
i use xpadder..b4 u can use the controller you need2 open "ps3sixaxis_en"
once you do that a black screen will flash and that means it worked.
go to quake and it should work. you need to open "ps3sixaxis_en" everytime u want to use

also, u need to set what actions to go along with on your controller.....
ex. for ql, you use "w,a,s,d" as your front, back, right, left....
so u config your d-pad to follow those actions. same go's for the other buttons.
config the "X" button for spacebar for the "jump action" ..."R1" as "right click" for fireing your weapon. so on and so on.. once u get it, set up is EZ ------------- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnAYGqjcGEE&feature=youtu.be Watch in 720P....duh |

Well it depends on what kind of moving combo a bit too, if you mean the kind where you shoot the core, go through a teleporter and finish it then yeah that's still awesome if you manage to land it

| i used a program called motionjoy from motionjoy.com. I a**igned the buttons on the ps3 controller to the keyboard letters for ut. For example, move forward on the keyboard is set to W for ut pc so, I set the R3 up to W and it responded. I did this for all the ps3 buttons but still it didnt move correctly but I think this is the way you have to do it. everything else worked like fire and alt fire. Hopefully I can configure it to work correctly ill post back if successful. |

why would you set "W" to "R3"??? W should be on the left joystick pointing up.
and "S" (move back) should be on the left joystick pointing down, and so on.
the right joystick should be the camra movement right???

you can but u won't make a single kill by using ur ps3 controller........ UT3 on PC is alot harder to kill sum1 compared to PS3 and you using controller against every1 else using a KB/M you'll get owned easy UT3 PC the Hitboxes are much smaller then the PS3 version The flak cannon isn't overpowerd so you can't shoot all the way down the necro Bridge to get a kill :L Link Gun isn't as spammy :P it takes 2 rockets to kill sum1 :O well thats not true inless u get them dead on but thts kinda hard with all the dodgeing that goes on PC lol -------------

if you use a ps3 controller on pc ut3 you will stand no chance you will simply die and die!! someone one who plays with a mouse n keyboard will allways own someone who plays with a controller!! The accuracy you get from a good mouse and keyboard set-up is ten fold what you can ever get from a controller!! ------------- EU WARFARE SERVER UP!!! Q4 had crouch sliding which made strafe jumping actually possible in q4. how ever QL/Q3 does not have that feature. strafe jumping is simple yet hard skill to master which requires fluid motion of the x axis motion. comparing strafejumping on the pc and 360/ps3 on quake, it may seem possible but not quite as good compared to q3 on pc and q4. ------------- name_is_clantag |

thumbstick will most likely be a unsuitable bind to set as jump. in order to properly SJ correctly, you have to hold forward and the direction in which you are strafing and at that same time, turning into the direction you are strafing in. if you actually seen SJ in action, visualizing that and applying it to a pad seems very very difficult.
