My Major is not Poly-Sci so I don't really have an interest for Politics but is Obama mad?
We all know the huge negatives of taking military action against Syria but what is going to happen if we do, (I really have no idea what's going to take place at this point) and is it going to be completely detrimental to Americans?

It's going to be detrimental to everyone involved and also those who are just bystanders. I am against military action. Our governments are bullies pretending to be righteous, in my opinion.

I say level them. Send the strikes and get it over with. I hate pussy footing around making ppl worry more. Its going to happen eventually at this point so send in troops to save the children, pull them out, and level the rest of the morons. ;) shoot first and ask questions later.

Obama screwed himself when he declared a "red line." Now he must go in or he will look like a coward/liar. I lol'd the other day when a retired general said we didn't have any boots on the ground to give us updated intel. (via CNN) Like cmon brah, we already know the CIA's SAD has been there for months maybe even years.

War in the middle east could raise gas into record prices. However as we sit and talk about things that might change for the worse here, kids are worried for his/her lives. I would be with it if I knew more benefits, but as it looks now I'm against Obama

America has never cared about the slaughter of innocents. We only get involved when we can benefit. Which is why there was no intervention in Darfur. If anything this nation has a history of slaughter.

This sounds oddly familiar to that whole fear theory I had in a previous post. If we are not feared we get rolled over. Just finally admit that I was right;)

However let's not forget "Operation of Deliberate Force' was pushed by Clinton's hand.In Sudan & Rwanda we might've really dropped the ball. Bush said clearly 'not on my watch' in regards to what is happening in Sudan. Whether he chickened out or if there was something we didn't know about, he should've stuck to his word. (I do read about the Sudan leader being a counter-terrorist, and helping our government with inside information... But who knows if that's true)

My serious answer to this is we should have minded our own business. We have money problems and other issues to fix first. But fvvking Obama opened his dumbass mouth so we just as well get this over with now.

This is so true lol.
Im just praying the UN wont approve bombing fromout America. That should be the last resort only when war is actually signed. There has got to be more solutions coming fromout "UN Top men" from which after all there brains should be "holier then thou" -_-

you have to look at the overall picture... there's no way we should attack anyone... we need to start being a Country of peace not war! how is killing people with cruise missles and drones any better? its not justified

Obama's not mad. I think it's all for show. If anyone is it's John Kerry lol. Obama's job as our figurehead is to maintain the "tough guy" routine, especially with a country like Syria.
There's a multitude of factors to consider with US involvement: dead Americans, rising oil prices, arming jihadists, spending $ we don't have, our global image worsening, pissing off Russia/China/Iran, type/length of conflict (sh!t doesn't always go down as planned), etc., etc. This country is broke. The last thing we need is more military spending on an overseas civil war with a bad outcome either way regardless of who wins or loses.
If Assad loses, take a look at Iraq, Libya, Egypt. Definitely not the friendliest of places. If you take the uprising out of the picture, heavy handed dictators in Arab countries do fare better in control than if the citizenry had the reigns. Iraq, Libya, and Egypt are all in turmoil ever since their dictators got the boot.
If Assad wins, you have a POS leader who has killed most of the 100K plus deaths. You have a friend of the enemy still in power. You have scumbag with ties to Hezbollah and Hamas.
All those people are f*cked either way. Sad but true.
