Probably the most anticipated game of 2010. One of the longest developed games in the decade is coming next month. Final Fantasy XIII. Game Informer got a hold of Final Fantasy XIII and reviewed it. In the March issue of GI, they rated FFXIII a 9.25/10, which is outstanding. The game isn't as memorable as VI or VII, but it has great gameplay and a great story. FFXIII sold numerous copies in Japan already, and many play-throughs of the game were posted on youtube. I'd love to say that the game looks amazing and plays amazing. There were a few sites and magazines(very few) that gave FFXIII an average review (3 out of 5 stars, 70/100, 6/10) because of the free roaming removed. Its a linear game, much like Final Fantasy X.

like FFVI, oldschool? cause that was the best game they ever put out IMO. IX (needs to be on PSStore soon) was really good too. I know my brother will buy it. so i'll just ask him if i can borrow it for awhile to see if it's worth buying. I wonder what the trophies are like on it. ------------- |

Agreed, FFVI is the best RPG to date, and the story cannot be beaten. And there is a field in XIII where you can freeroam, but it is for training missions only(much like FFX's Calm Lands, exept the one in XIII is 10x bigger) ------------- XBL=GeNovaZ PC=NovazZ |

Fallout 3 has definitely opened my eyes to complete freedom in a free roaming environment. That being said tho, even if FFXIII is completely linear, there's no way in hell that I'm skipping this game. A day one purchase without a hint of a doubt!

Very stoked for this game coming. Preordered it last year! Collected most Final Fantasys to date, even have an original SNES copy of Final Fantasy 3. From all of the reviews, screenshots and videos it looks awesome, although the battle systems looks very confusing and messy. But sure that will be easy to get used to. Can't wait! |

I liked it better when this was a PS3 exclusive but then Microsoft had to stick there nose in & now look what we got........... they had to lower the texture settings on the PS3 so the xbox version & PS3 look identical :( It looked really good that it was like playing it on a high end pc -------------

its become a rental to me.. this series went in the trash can with X and X-2.. XII wasnt bad but this **** is no longer final fantasy.. roaming the world in a little airship is final fantasy.. looking for some random ass little town to find a sword above your level etc.. i dont wanna just sit around and play thru a 30 hour movie.. so im renting it.. i guess its impossible for gaming companies to stick to formulas that work -------------

Well I wouldn't say Square ruined the series with FFX. FFX won alot of game of the year awards for that year in the US. But the main formula for the game was abandoned after 9. Square might consider making FF15 an oldschool style game with a good plot and villain. But FFXIII is getting decent reviews in America. "Decent" as in 8-8.5-9/10 in a scale of 1-10. yeah i really like the battle system now ive got into it.. kinda mixes the best things out of other ff games.. the levelling up is kinda like the sphere grid from ffx, something similar to the gambit system from ff12, and upgrade your weapons like ff7:DoC.. all with its own styleoffighting... awesome game. ------------- |

yeah but aint ff7 the most successful ff in hostory? lol.. i think the best ff is ff7.. then ffx... story wise i think 7 has the edge but x has the better twist at the end. i havent played the older ff's though and ive only slightly got inot ff8.. i cant say much about it but alot of people said that 8 is one of the best.... so i would put those 3 as my top 3... ff13 aint one of the best but its still more than good enough for the wait to ff versus 13! ------------- |

| 13 is a great game, it may take 2 or 3 hours to figure out however. About 6 or 7 it starts getting really good. I just hope there are side quests. FF6 is the best. FF7 had the best score (music) 12 had the best game play, 10 had the best leveling system. |

| FF13 is pretty damn good. Sazh, the dude with the 'fro is by far the coolest, and he has the best voice acting in any game, ever. Not only is he the comic relief, when he talks, you believe him, you can feel a human connection. Just wish Hope would shut up and Vanille would stop sounding like a Japanese porno. |

The voice acting in FF13 is phenomenal. They even tackled something you guys never thought of, Vanille and Fang have Australian accents(sounds bad, though), but they are from A LAND DOWN UNDER. Think, the Gran Pulse is a land down under, and they come from a land down under! That is why they have accents! I will shake my hands to anyone in square who thought of that idea. Oh, and the game is awesome in the second half. Chapters 7-13, is funking awesome. And I agree Sazh is one of the best game voice actors I have ever witnessed. All characters have exceptionally good personalities and voices in this game. If I had to rate this game out of 10, I'd give it a 9 for the voice acting, personalities, and battle system. I´m in chapter 10 now,can´t wait to get on gran pulse to finally do some side quests and cp farming,hopefully it´ll be a world map....but still waiting almost 16 hours of game to be able to do some sidequests is strange.....

yeah dead the game really does get better later in the game when some of the story unfolds and u are able to fully use the combat system and unlock the attacks.. and im really liking this game... when the game allowed u to get moves the game got good... now its getting much better. atm i just started chapter 9. and ive played it for about 17 or 18 hours.. and since there is only 13 chapters im hoping the last few chapters are alot longer? since i like my ff games long and ill be very dissapointed if this is too short.... ive heard that the last capters are alot longer.. and apparently the officla guidebook states that chapter 9 is the half way point in the story... can anyone confirm is what ive found is true?.. is the last chapters alot longer?.... and on a side note ive looked and read up on f vs 13... and it sounds really good... Naah not really any longer, as far as story point of view, but once you get to grand puls you'll find stuff to do for hours. And it's kind of odd that you have to finish the game BEFORE you can max out you characters fully as the last stage of that crystal thing opens after you beat the game. |

| Not sure, but I heard it makes your Eidolons stronger. Haven been able to test it yet as haven't got any role lvls after I heard it. But my Bahamut did 99 119 damage when had prim roles 3 and now when role lvls are 4 it does bout 350 000 damage. |

what do people think the best party is? cos tbh i just got to the point where i can choose my characters.. but i really like the default lightning, hope, fang team.. i think thats the most even team.. lightning the most versatile character and has alot of ravager and commando attacks which are the two most useful roles in the game for offensive.. hope has the highest magic attribute and is a good medic and synergist. fang has useful sab abilities along with being able to become a sentinal... i would replace hope with snow because i like snow as a character and hope is my least fave... but hope has the best magic and if i swap him then i would have snow and fang which are similar type of fighters since they both have comm and rav... i could swap fang for snow since he has alot more strength and hp. but fang is more versatile... hmmmmmm.. whats the best party in peoples opinions?... ------------- |

also just wondering... im at chapter 9 and not doing alot of damage with my characters (well no where near the amount of damage if been hearing other people do.. such as 100,000s of damage.... hwere do you lot level up that fast?... or is the best place to level up in gran pulse where u have all the side missions...? and is that the best place for getting gil/componants for levelling up the weapons?. ------------- |

Adamantoises are best but takes time befor you are strong enough to face them. But enemies on last place give some fairly good loot. Grand pulse there are some good things to grind. Also while doing missions you get some nice things too. My party is Light, Hope, Fang. Fang more of physical dmg, Hope more of mage, light kind of hybrid. Picked them because I can't stand Vanille or Satz and found more use from Fangs than snow cuz' Sabo role To hit good you need to upgrade ur weapons. |

| Thats not completely true. So times it expands without new role lvl stone, 10 stages, 5 role lvls, last thing you can develop is role lvl 5. So it just eats you extra for each role 60 000cp for nothing/trophy? |

Role lvl makes eidolon stronger, confirmed. I thnki I'v seen some kind of list of weapons stats, could try dig it up later. < ="-" ="text/; =utf-8">

meh i would prefer hope over snow.. since hope is a much better mage and its esential to have commando, rav,rav for building chain attacks...

i´m just preparin for the last battles.....i don´t like to have a weak member like hope,who has low defense and low hp....i prefer to build snow as mage and put some good accessories boosting his magic
