Definately some good news for all QL players, this could be the next big tournament that brings the quake scene to the main stream. From esreality.com:
 
Today the a**ociation of Gaming Professionals, the first ever international players a**ociation in E-Sports and in Quake Live, has launched.

The AGP will unite the players to expand and sustain the sport themselves through player legislation, international and regional rankings, and tournament sponsoring and sanctioning.
The AGP is the next step in establishing Quake Live and first person shooters as a true professional sport.” said Jarod Reisin, President of VIDA. “The potential of a united players a**ociation is bigger than anything we have seen before in professional gaming. It’s proving that progress is happening and that a self sustaining sport is right here in front of us, going nowhere but up.
The AGP will be sponsoring 24 online tournaments in 2009 in Duel, CTF, and CA.
