^_^ Finally won a DM.

The belt and amor give players a reason to move around the map and not camp in a corner with flak/bio. They're definitely an advantage but you have to fight for that advantage as the other player wants it too. That's why powerups are located at more or less dangerous and open places, to give you a risk when taking it.
If the enemy camps the belt you might as well get the vest and thighpads for 80 armor and attack him longrange before it spawns. If you don't gain map control you're basically telling him to get free armor and an advantage of over twice your health.
On the ps3 version the belt spawns every 59.5 seconds, the udamage every 89.5 seconds and basically everything else every 29.5 seconds, all decent duellers know that.

If someone spawnkills you it's often because you let him gain map control so he no longer has to worry about his health, and just chases after you.

It is a fair fight, if they have map control you gave them the advantage.
It doesn't matter what mode, timing powerups is important for duel, ctf, tdm etc.

Sorry but I was actually joking.. The shield belt is a core principle of duelling, without it it's a simple 2 player deathmatch.

I played Duel for the first time yesterday and I sucked... big time!

On larger maps I agree, but on tighter maps like Sentinel it's interesting to see how two peoples' play styles match up.

Congratulations.   Duel is similar to deathmatch but with only two competitors.  You and an opponent square off to a certain point limit.
